In numbers
BDF underground water tanks that save space and resist corrosion

Every BDF tank is drawn to your excavation, inspected before it ships and packed flat for the container.

As a BDF underground water tank manufacturer in China, LVJIA builds buried tanks from stainless–galvanized composite plate. The stainless face touches the water, the galvanized steel carries the load, and no welded part touches the stored water. Panels bolt together with rubber seals into tanks from 1 m³ to 1,000+ m³, with an anti-floating design for underground fire reserves, pump stations and buried rainwater storage.

Capabilities
Composite plate is cut, folded, pressed and punched in our factory in Wucheng County, Dezhou. Each panel is reinforced to take soil and water pressure, and every panel shares one bolt pattern, so the buried water tank goes together cleanly in the excavation.

E***n, Netherlands · verified purchaseBDF underground water tank questions, answered by the factory
The questions buyers ask us most often before a BDF underground water tank is quoted, answered with the figures our own inspection sheets use.
Ask our engineersWhat exactly is a BDF underground water tank?
A BDF underground water tank is a bolted, buried storage tank pressed from bimetallic composite plate — a food-grade stainless face toward the water with hot-dip galvanised steel behind it for strength. LVJIA presses each panel in one stroke instead of laminating two sheets, so the stored water never touches a welded seam or a heat-affected zone, which is where corrosion normally begins. Panels bolt together inside the excavation with EPDM strips and stainless fasteners, so the tank needs no site welding, no crane and no curing time, and a single panel can be replaced years later without cutting the shell open.
What capacities and panel thicknesses can I order?
Every BDF underground water tank is built to the pit you already have. The module is a pressed 1000 × 1000 mm panel, so capacity steps in whole modules from 1 m³ up to 1,000+ m³ in a single shell. Panel thickness follows water height: 2 mm for shallow reserves of 1.0–1.5 m, 3 mm at 2.0 m, 4 mm at 3.0 m and 5 mm where the head is higher again. Send the pit dimensions and the volume you need, and the factory returns an arrangement drawing with the full panel schedule before any plate is cut.
How strong is the composite plate?
The plate in an LVJIA BDF underground water tank is tested at 405 MPa tensile against a 350 MPa requirement, and 296 MPa yield against a 220 MPa requirement — a margin of roughly 15 to 35 per cent over specification. Panels are drawn rather than fabricated, and all four corners of each module are reinforced, so the shell holds its shape under the water load inside and the backfill pressure outside. Flatness is held to ±1.0 mm across a module and bolt-hole pitch to ±0.5 mm, which is what lets a buried tank bolt up square without shimming on site.
Will a BDF underground water tank float if the pit floods?
Not when it is anchored properly. An empty tank in a flooded excavation is buoyant, so every BDF underground water tank leaves Dezhou with an anti-floating design: a ballast or anchor arrangement sized against the groundwater table you report, tied into the base slab. LVJIA calculates the uplift for your site conditions and marks the anchor points on the arrangement drawing, so the contractor knows exactly what to cast in before the panels arrive. Where the water table sits high all year, the tank can also be specified for part-filled commissioning during backfill.
Is the stored water safe for a drinking supply?
The wetted face of a BDF underground water tank is food-grade stainless steel, the covers are sealed and the manhole is vented but closed, so neither light nor airborne dust reaches the stored volume — the two things that spoil a long-dwell reserve. Because nothing welded is in contact with the water, there is no heat-affected zone to shed iron into it. Tanks carry CE certification for water tanks under ICR/VC/HS2506113, and the drinking-water contact report ships with the order. For potable duty the tank is normally paired with a filtered inlet and a separate wash-out drain.
How long does manufacturing and delivery take?
A BDF underground water tank runs through six controlled stages — enquiry and tank drawing, composite plate cutting, folding and pressing, punching and fittings, inspection and testing, then delivery and assembly — in about 15 working days from drawing approval. Every finished tank is filled and held at full head before packing, and 100 per cent of finished product is inspected before it is crated. BDF underground water tank panels ship flat-packed on pallets, which is why a tank bound for the Middle East, Africa, North America or South-East Asia freights no worse than a stack of plate.
Can LVJIA build to our own drawing?
Yes — OEM and ODM work is the normal case here rather than the exception. The plant covers 11,000 m² and produces a drawing for every tank, so a BDF underground water tank can be supplied with a pump chamber integrated into the shell, a two-compartment split placed anywhere on the 1 m module, bespoke nozzle positions, or your own branding on the manhole covers. Send a sketch, a P&ID or simply the pit and the duty, and the engineering team returns a general arrangement with the panel schedule and the anchor design for approval.
