About this category

Why enamel
panels

An enameled water tank is glass, fired onto a steel panel at high temperature — the strength of steel with a surface the water never gets past. A glass-fused-to-steel enameled water tank is what fire reserves, rainwater stores and building supply tanks are specified in when the tank has to sit for years and still come apart panel by panel for service.

  • Glass surface — the water never touches the steel
  • Enamel glaze fused at high temperature, not painted on
  • Smooth, non-porous inner surface that wipes clean
  • Stores water from 4 to 100 °C
  • Bolted panels — any single panel can be replaced
  • Colour options and insulated builds

Our process

How every tank is built, stage by stage

Four stages from flat steel to a kitted tank on a pallet. The same route runs for every tank in this catalog — only the glaze and the panel size change.

  • Cutting & forming Steel panels cut and formed to the panel drawing.
  • Glazing Enamel glaze applied to both faces of the panel.
  • High-temperature firing Glaze fused to the steel, then surface inspected.
  • Testing & dispatch Trial-assembled, leak tested, kitted and packed.

Enameled tank FAQ

Enameled water tank questions, answered by the factory

The questions buyers ask before an enameled water tank is quoted, answered with the figures our own inspection sheets use.

Ask our engineers
What is an enameled water tank made of?

An enameled water tank is steel with a glass glaze fired onto it at high temperature — the trade also calls it glass-fused-to-steel. The steel carries the load and the fired glass carries the water, bonded rather than painted on, so there is no film to peel or blister. LVJIA presses every enameled water tank panel at 1000 × 1000 mm and 2 to 4.5 mm thick, chosen by the water height above that course, then bolts them into an assembled wall of 12 mm.

What temperature can an enameled water tank store water at?

Every enameled water tank in this catalog is rated from 4 to 100 °C, which covers cold store, ambient municipal supply and domestic hot water. The fired glaze is unaffected across that range; what changes is the seal specification and whether the tank is insulated. An insulated enameled water tank is available where it stands outdoors or where the stored temperature has to be held rather than simply contained, so tell us the working temperature when you send the size.

Is the water in an enameled water tank safe to drink?

Yes. Panels from our enameled water tank line were sent for drinking-water contact testing to a CMA-accredited state institute, and report SP2630500 against GB/T 17219-2025 is issued with the order. Fired glass is non-porous, so there is nothing for biofilm to key into and nothing that leaches into the water. The tank closes with a sealed, vented manhole, and panels are joined with non-toxic gaskets and sealant rather than solvent adhesives. Where a project specifies it, drinking-water contact is also covered by NSF/ANSI 61.

Can a single panel be replaced?

That is why most buyers choose bolted construction. An enameled water tank comes apart the way it went together: undo the bolts around one panel, lift it out, fit a replacement — no cutting, no welding and no hot work near the stored water. It also means an enameled water tank can be carried into a plant room a panel at a time and rebuilt inside, which matters when the door is narrower than the finished tank.

What certifications does it carry?

Each enameled water tank ships against ISO 9001:2015, certificate 07624Q0960R3S-SD/001, with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 also on file — ISO 9001 sets out what that standard covers. CE marking is held against EN 13280:2001 under ICR/VC/HS2506113, and LVJIA is an SGS verified supplier following assessment and an onsite check.

What sizes and panel layouts are available?

An enameled water tank is built to the room rather than to a size chart. Panels run 3 × 1 m; 2 × 1 m; 1.5 × 1 m; 1 × 1 m; 1 × 0.5 m; 0.5 × 0.5 m, so footprint and height are both tuned to the space and to the volume you need to hold. Send the floor area, the headroom and the working volume, and the panel schedule for your enameled water tank is drawn around them, with the thicker panels placed on the lower courses where the head is greatest.

How is it inspected, packed and shipped?

Every enameled water tank is hydrostatically leak tested, filled and held before dispatch, and every fired panel is surface inspected before it is kitted. Panel size and bolt-hole position are measured against the approved drawing, and each panel batch is logged to its material record. The enameled water tank then ships flat, kitted with its bolt sets and seals and export packed, from the LVJIA plant in Wucheng County, Dezhou, Shandong.
