The galvanized cooling water tank from LVJIA is built on the Hot Dipped Galvanized panel system at our own plant in Dezhou, Shandong. A cooling basin is warm, wet and constantly topped up, which is a harder life than most storage tanks ever see.
A galvanized cooling water tank is a pressed steel sectional tank finished by hot-dip galvanising after the panels are formed. That order matters: because the zinc goes on last, it covers every edge, bolt hole and stiffener the press leaves behind, instead of cracking off a pre-galvanised sheet the moment it is stamped. LVJIA builds it from 1 to 3000 m³, or 125 litres to 500,000 litres, on a bolted panel system.
Zinc performs best in cooling service when the circuit chemistry is controlled, so the two things worth watching are pH and temperature. Keep the circuit near neutral and the coating lasts the life of the plant. Very soft, acidic make-up water or sustained high temperature will shorten it, which is why circuits with aggressive chemistry are usually quoted in stainless instead. Say what the dosing regime is at enquiry stage and the right material is recommended rather than assumed.
Panels are pressed from 2 to 5 mm steel plate, ribbed for stiffness, then dipped whole in molten zinc. The coating is metallurgically bonded rather than painted on, so it does not peel and it keeps protecting the steel at a scratch. Joints are bolted through an external flange onto a food-grade gasket, and the tank ships flat in a plywood box or on an iron bracket.
