The enamel corrosion resistant tank from LVJIA is built on the Enameled panel system at our own plant in Dezhou, Shandong. The larger the tank, the more expensive a lining failure becomes, because emptying it is the cheapest part of the repair.
An enamel corrosion resistant tank is a bolted tank whose steel panels are fired with a glass glaze at high temperature, so the surface meeting the water is chemically glass rather than metal. It does not rust, it takes no coating and it adds no taste, and the glaze is fused into the steel rather than painted onto it. Panels come in 3 × 1 m; 2 × 1 m; 1.5 × 1 m; 1 × 1 m; 1 × 0.5 m; 0.5 × 0.5 m, and the tank is rated for water between 4 and 100 °C.
Organic linings such as epoxy and polyurethane are permeable given enough time; moisture works through to the steel, the bond fails and the lining lifts in sheets. Glass fused to steel has no organic component and no permeability at all, so there is no mechanism for that to happen. On a thousand cubic metre tank that difference is decisive, because a relining job at that scale means draining, cleaning, blasting, ventilating and weeks out of service.
The panel is pressed from 2 to 4.5 mm steel depending on where it sits in the wall, then enamelled on both faces so the outside is protected as well as the inside. Assembled, the wall section measures 12 mm. Panels bolt together on a sealed joint, and because the glaze is inert the same tank handles potable water, fire reserve and mildly aggressive process water without a change of specification.
