About this category
Why galvanized
steel
Q235 steel panels, stretch-formed in one piece and hot-dip galvanized — the tank you specify when you need volume and strength for the money. Fire reserves, construction sites, farms and process plants use it, bolted together with non-toxic rubber seals so nothing has to be welded once it reaches the ground.
- Zinc coating fused to the steel, not painted on
- Q235 structural steel, 2 to 5 mm wall
- Bolted with non-toxic rubber seals — no welding on site
- 1 to 3,000 m³, laid out around your ground and access
- About a third the weight of an ordinary steel tank
- Epoxy inner lining and insulation available

See catalogGalvanized water tank questions, answered by the factory
The questions buyers ask before a galvanized water tank is quoted, answered with the figures our own inspection sheets use.
Ask our engineersWhat is a galvanized water tank made of?
A galvanized water tank is built from Q235 structural steel panels, stretch-formed in one piece and then hot-dip galvanized so the zinc is metallurgically fused to the steel rather than painted onto it. Wall thickness runs from 2 to 5 mm, chosen by the head above that course. The panels bolt together with non-toxic rubber seals, so a galvanized water tank needs no welding once it reaches the ground.
What capacities are available?
From 1 m³ to 3,000 m³. A galvanized water tank is built to order rather than to a size chart, so the footprint and the height are both set by the space you have and the volume you need to hold. Send the floor area, the headroom and the working volume and the panel schedule is drawn around them, with the thicker panels placed on the lower courses where the pressure is greatest.
Why choose galvanized over other materials?
Volume and strength for the money. A galvanized water tank gives you steel strength at roughly a third of the weight of an equivalent concrete structure, and the zinc layer does the corrosion work without a lining to fail. That combination is why fire reserves, construction sites, farms and process plants specify a galvanized water tank when the duty is bulk storage rather than a hygiene-critical process.
Is the water safe to drink?
Our galvanized water tank was sent for drinking-water contact testing to a CMA-accredited state institute and the result is issued as report SP2630501 against GB/T 17219-2025 with the order. Panels are bolted with non-toxic seals and the tank closes with a sealed, vented manhole. For potable duty, say so when you send the size so the seal and fitting specification is written for it.
How thick is the zinc coating?
It is read off the panel in microns rather than estimated. Coating thickness is a recorded inspection point on every galvanized water tank we build, alongside panel size and bolt-hole position. The hot dip practice itself follows the requirements set out in ISO 1461, which is the reference most specifiers cite for coating mass and adhesion on fabricated steel.
What certifications does it carry?
Every galvanized water tank ships against ISO 9001:2015, certificate 07624Q0960R3S-SD/001, with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 on file — ISO 9001 sets out what that standard covers. Steel is supplied to GB/T 700, CE marking is held against EN 13280:2001 under ICR/VC/HS2506113, and LVJIA is an SGS verified supplier following assessment and an onsite check.
How is it inspected, packed and shipped?
Every galvanized water tank is trial-assembled, hydrostatically leak tested and then flat-packed. Zinc thickness, panel size and bolt-hole position are all measured against the approved drawing, and every Q235 batch is logged to its material record. The tank ships kitted with its bolt sets and seals and export packed, from the LVJIA plant in Wucheng County, Dezhou, Shandong.
Can a galvanized water tank be extended or moved later?
Yes, and that is one of the practical arguments for bolted construction. Because every panel is bolted rather than welded, a galvanized water tank can be dismantled, moved to another site and rebuilt, or extended by adding bays to the existing footprint where the base and the ground conditions allow it. Tell us at drawing stage if a future extension is likely and the base frame and panel schedule are laid out so the end wall can be opened up later without disturbing the rest of the galvanized water tank.
Send us your tank size. We send back a drawing and a price.
Tell us the capacity, the site and what the water is for. An engineer — not a sales script — replies with a panel layout, a bill of materials and a delivered cost.
